About Me

I have drawn prolifically since the day I could pick up a crayon, mostly due to a large chunk of my childhood being spent with my Art Director/cartoonist Dad in and out of Ad Agencies. My earliest memories are having layout pads, clapped out markers and yellowy cracked sheets of letraset thrown in front of me to keep me occupied. I loved it! I knew the difference between Helvetica and Avant Garde by the age of 6!

I am an all round art director, designer, retoucher, illustrator and artworker with a solid 30 years in the industry starting off way back in 1992 after I left Art Director’s Workshop in Cape Town.

I am passionate about all things design and draw and have been working since the days Photoshop didn’t even have layers. As a child I was an avid cartoonist and airbrusher which has stood me in good stead in my adult years with illustration and retouching being just 2 skillsets of many.

Now after being based in London since 2002 and having done the rounds in many top Ad Agencies in London, I now work from home under the name of DrawTalent which I started some 12 years ago.

I am also a very avid runner – as you will see a large majority of my branding portfolio are running based events as I have been running (once at a decent level) pretty much all my life!
